Client Spotlight: Partners For Parks
Strong communities can flourish when people have access to places where they can gather, play, explore, and enjoy nature, and Partners For Parks has been helping to make such opportunities available all over the greater Charlotte area for 30 years.
Partners For Parks, founded in 1996, links donors with local parks and recreation departments. It collaborates with Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation and other organizations in the area to promote public-private partnerships that enhance parks, greenways, open spaces, facilities, and community programs.
Over the years, Partners For Parks has carried out a number of things for the community. It provided $50,000 towards youth sports scholarships and $25,000 for the renovation of the Grayson Skatepark at the Naomi Drenan Recreation Center. The group has also increased awareness of the greenways, installed historical signs along the Trail of History, improved the playgrounds, supported the Senior Games, and organized events to encourage people to enjoy local public spaces.
As Partners For Parks became more established, they realized that they needed a website that clearly shared their story and the impact they were making in and around the Queen City. Woland Web worked with them 1:1 to redesign the site, creating a modern, responsive online presence that shows the energy and purpose of their work.
The new website also makes the organization’s aims easy to understand. Partners For Parks focuses on three major priorities: connecting communities by improving access to high-quality parks and open spaces, preserving and enhancing recreational facilities throughout Mecklenburg County, and promoting a connected network of public spaces through partnerships, education, engagement, and resource development.
