7 Website Changes That Make a Big Difference

1) Spend more time on your blog.
One of the best ways to make your website more useful, enhancing its SEO traction and giving customers a reason to come back, is to regularly add fresh content. Develop a rhythm for updating your blog, aiming for at least a couple of new posts every month.
2) Improve your call-to-action structure.
Every website needs at least one good, strong call to action, guiding your readers on the steps they should take next. But why stop at one CTA? Encourage your readers with a number of CTAs, carefully placed throughout the page. Include invitations to call you for an appointment, to subscribe to your newsletter, or whatever else is appropriate for your consumer journey.
3) Ensure a mobile-friendly design.
Hopefully, your site is already designed with a mobile-first mentality. Remember, a majority of your traffic is likely to come from mobile devices, making it essential for your page to be highly functional across all browser and device types. If your site isn’t mobile-friendly, that’s a change you need to make urgently.
4) Embed video.
Not every website needs embedded video content, but sometimes this can really enrich the user experience. For example, if you have a product that is more technical, complicated, or simply not as well known, video can be a great way to explain how the product works. This can empower customers to feel more confident in their purchase.
5) Include testimonials.
Speaking of confidence, nothing creates a more frictionless shopping experience than a few well-placed testimonials. Help your website visitors see that other people have used your products or services and had a great experience. Include written testimonials, video testimonials, or even a Google Reviews widget.
6) List your brand benefits.
Is there anywhere on your website where you include an elegant, intuitive, bullet-point list of your brand’s major benefits? Do you ever outline, in simple terms, why a customer should trust you? This is a seemingly simple thing that many websites omit. Consider adding enumerated benefits to your business website.
7) Streamline your homepage.
Does your homepage tell a clear story that’s easy to follow? Does it cast your customer as the main character, identify obvious needs and pain points, and highlight your brand as the solution? Take a few minutes to think about the story your page is telling, and streamline the narrative as needed.
